3 Stage Learning System
drivesense.net has taken every practical test skill and scenario from the VORT exam and sorted them into 3 distinct stages. Each stage starts from the easiest skill and builds upon each to progress to the next stage and ultimately your licence. To easily remember this we have a traffic light system.
RED
Beginner

Who is This For?
For the beginner driver in their first 0-10hrs of practice with no previous experience to draw upon.
What Is The Focus?
Car controls and positioning. For safety and confidence this is done in quiet carparks.
YELLOW
Intermediate
Learner
Who is This For?
Intermediate learners in the 10-30 hour range of practice and have passed all the skills of the red stage.
What Is The Focus?
Main streets, controlled intersections and the simple mandatory VORT maneuvers.

Experienced driver in the 30-50hrs of practice range and have passed all the skills of the yellow stage.

Back street driving, uncontrolled intersections and complex VORT maneuvers.
